i’m trying to get the comments to display by default on the main page. I’ve clicked on the ‘comments open by default on index page’ and have changed the code in index.php as in your example but now all my posts show the first’s post comments. why is it doing this?

also can’t seem to change the background color on line 122 — it’s still showing up as white.

@Cherie Irwin: Cherie, that’s just because you have a slightly older version of the stylesheet. that’s the right spot, go for it!

Jared, line 158 looks like this on my stylesheet.

height: 108px;

I don’t want to mess anything up, so what do I need to do to change the color of the top header area?

@Laura: yeah, look on about line 165 of your style sheet for this line (under h1#blog-title):

width: 397px; /* smaller if narrower logo - gives links more room */

just change that to the width you need, and it will free up more room.

Is it possible for me to shrink the width of the logo image to allow more room for the list of links? My logo image actually has a lot of white space that is not necessary and would free up a fair amount of space for the crowded links. Thanks!

Jared - I’ve quadruple checked. The comment bar says “1 comment” but it isn’t a link where you can see the comment. The only way to see the existing comment is to click on “add a comment”. I want people to be able to view the comments without having them automatically listed.
