RSS in plain english
This blog is going to become the central place for tips, bug fixes, advanced customization videos, and lots more. So, I want to make sure none of you miss any of these posts. If you don’t already use RSS to subscribe to blogs rather than having to check them all the time, you really ought to consider it. My blog feed is here, or just paste the blog address into your reader of choice. If you’re still a little fuzzy on RSS and RSS readers, watch this sweet video:
How do we add an RSS feed to our own blogs? Should I just use feedburner or similar?
Jamie, WordPress automaticaly creates an RSS feed for you (technically several). You can find it by typing in your blog address then /rss/. If people put just your blog address into an RSS reader like Google Reader, it’s smart enough to find it.
There are advantages to using Feedburner, but setting it up really well is a little complex. I’m planning to do a post/video on how to do that in the near future. For now, your automatic feed is probably fine.
Thanks Jared! I am probably behind the times, but I didn’t know how to do that. Awesome post!
thank. I had tried adding it to google reader the other day and it didn’twork, but i just did it again and it’s working. Thanks, Jared!
