WordPress 2.5 Admin videos
I finally finished creating some new videos showing and explaining the new WordPress 2.5 admin interface, and here they are. If you’re already pretty familiar with WordPress, these might be a little basic, but if you’re new to WordPress, there is a lot of info covered here that might be useful to you.
Of special note might be the first video, which explains in some detail most of the posting and image uploading features in WordPress 2.5. The image upload feature especially has stumped some people (it is kind of counter-intuitive), so it might be worth watching.
NOTE: I’m pretty sure there is a bug in WP 2.5 that makes uploading and inserting images almost impossible if you are using Internet Explorer 7. Use Firefox instead and you should be fine. I’m pretty confident WP will fix this soon. But, why are you using Internet Explorer anyway? Firefox is faster, safer, and more powerful. But I’ll save that rant for another day…
Let me know if these videos are useful!

Jared, wow. Lots of new videos and look at you!
I didn’t get the multiple images feature after my upgrade. Not sure I’ve missed a setting in the WP 2.5 settings or not, but I’m a bit confused (not uncommon, but I thought I’d mention it). Any idea why this is?
Petra, have you tried using the add image button and then shift-clicking or command-clicking on several images at once? It should just work. If not, let me know what browser you’re using, and OS.
Jared,
curious about whether or not I need to be resizing my images before uploading, as I do for my website. If so, what are the recommended sizes. I searched but could not locate it. I thought I had heard you mention 900x 650 or some thing. When I try to open my blog on my pc it takes forever to load (Firefox) and then finally causes the program to quit…on my Mac, they load just fine, so I was wondering if it is because my image files are too large.
Thanks!
Kristi
Kristi » 900px by 600px is the optimum size. You can go smaller, but you can’t go wider than 900px.
